Dorset Trading Standards Thank TSG

Dear TSG,

I was on duty at the Great Dorset Steam Fair yesterday (2nd September) and found a number of stalls in the market area selling counterfeit goods. In previous years we have had Police assistance when we conduct seizures from the market but I was informed that TSG were now responsible for assisting us.

The Police Inspector I was talking to stopped two of your officers (who were actually on their break at the time) and asked if they would accompany me. They happily agreed and offered to get a 4×4 vehicle to drive us around the site area. They accompanied us on the subsequent seizures and assisted in gathering evidence and collating the seized items.

I wanted to write to commend these officers and ask you to pass on my thanks. Both were extremely professional, confident but also very polite towards the stall holders and members of the public who wanted to know what we were doing. The officers were 121 Alex Bourne and 132 Mark Sheika.

I will be writing to Martin Oliver, the Managing Director of the Great Dorset Steam Fair, to say how impressed I was with TSG. Hopefully the event will continue to use TSG.
Yours faithfully,

Neil Martin

North Yorkshire Police

Dear David,

I would like to thank TSG for its outstanding work and professionalism during the Pickering Traction Engine Rally. The safety of the event is a priority for the police here in Ryedale and your team’s work on the ground certainly ensured that the event was once again a safe one for the public to attend and enjoy.

I appreciate that there was a commercial issue running in the background and whilst the payment of your bill was uncertain I was impressed that you personally ensured this did not detract from your duties. You refused to pull out from the event and this demonstrated to me your professional approach and personal commitment to keep the event safe.

I would like to again personally thank you and your team on behalf of North Yorkshire Police, for the professionalism and your own responsibility for ensuring a safe Pickering Traction Engine Rally.

Yours Sincerely,
Mark Grange
Acting Superintendent/Scarborough & Ryedale Safer Neighbourhood Commander

Pickering Traction Rally

Dear Sir,

A brief word from a long-term attendee at the rally. May I congratulate your team on their superb performance at Pickering. Everyone I spoke to was polite, restrained, professional, friendly and it was pleasure to see them around, keeping the rally safe and secure. Such a contrast!

Last year there were scumbags running riot. I believe 80 generators were stolen on the campsite, they vandalised toilets, intimidated people, as well as stealing from trader friends I know who said they would never come back.

Assuming you will be on in 2016, I can confidently report to others just how things have improved! It is only a minority that cause trouble, imposing their shadow over every event, but with people like your team around their days are numbered!

Kind regards,
Andrew Stephenson

Americana

Dear TSG,

You may not recall, but I spoke to a member of your managing staff and their team at the end of the Americana event in July. It was the first time my family (my partner and my 13 year old daughter) and I had attended the event and I have to say one of the first things that stood out to me was the security team. They not only looked very professional (uniforms and body language) but they were switched on without being over the top. The security agents were very approachable and friendly and yet I really felt safe.

As an independent learning and development consultant I appreciate how hard it can be to get the balance right when dealing with security matters. You and your team certainly did get the balance right over the weekend. I was very impressed.

I have been involved in various security contracts during my career, some in airport settings, and I fully appreciate the difficulties you face when it comes to mixing customer service with security. With so many customers and potential issues at a venue like Newark Showground I felt you delivered a great service, not only to your customer but to the general public. Congratulations. You must be very proud of the team.

Best regards,

Michelle Hay
L&D consultant.

Welland Steam Rally

Dear David,

Firstly many thanks for a “job well done” at this year’s event. Please pass on our thanks to everyone involved at TSG. After having to postpone the event until September I am happy to let you know that the committee were more than pleased with both your personnel and the new medical team that you arranged for us. Indeed, this was the first year that we have received no letters of complaint from the general public, only complimentary and positive comments about the whole show. I am happy to quote from two of the letters/emails sent to the club.

“The response from the security personnel and the medical staff was exceptional and I was soon on my way to Worcester A&E.”

“The private Security people were switched on, very visible, friendly yet appeared reassuringly forceful.”

Best,

Peter Evans
